measure your: waist girth
- locate the top of your hip bone on both sides of your body (along the waistband where a mid-rise jeans would sit)
- stand up straight and relax your abdominal muscles
- wrap the tape measure around your abdomin - make sure the tape measure is level and snug but not too tight
- look at the number on the tape measure where it meets the end you started with. round the number to the nearest quarter inch or half centimeter
- record your measurement
measure your: hip girth
- locate your hips - your hips are the widest part of your buttocks
- stand up straight and keep your feet together
- wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips - this is usually at the level of your buttocks
- make sure the tape measure is level and parallel to the ground - it should not be twisted or sagging
- look at the number on the tape measure where it meets the end you started with. round the number to the nearest quarter inch or half centimeter
- record your measurement
measure your: thigh girth
- locate the midpoint of your thigh - this is the halfway point between your knee and the top of your thigh where it meets your hip
- stand up straight and keep your feet together
- wrap the tape measure around the midpoint of your thigh. make sure the tape measure is level and snug but not too tight
- keep the tape measure parallel to the ground and perpendicular to your leg
- look at the number on the tape measure where it meets the end you started with. round the number to the nearest quarter inch or half centimeter
- record your measurement
measure your: inseam
- stand up straight without shoes on and keep your feet shoulder-width apart
- place the tape measure at the base of your crotch where your leg meets your body. this is also called the top of your inseam
- hold the tape measure straight down your leg, following the natural curve of your inner thigh
- measure to the bottom of your ankle bone. make sure the tape measure is held straight and not twisted or sagging
- look at the number on the tape measure where it meets the end you started with. round the number to the nearest quarter inch or half centimeter
